“I chose to work at The Women’s Health Practice because I believe good healthcare needs time. We are living in an era of an overwhelming amount of health information, often with conflicting messages about how best to look after ourselves and age well. Helping patients make sense of this information, understand what is relevant to them and make informed, appropriate choices requires time and a personalised approach. The growing demand for excellent, evidence-based healthcare is something I find both exciting and rewarding.
After graduating from the University of Cape Town, I worked in various settings in Cape Town and the UK. During this time, I realised my passion lay in a holistic, evidence-based and collaborative approach to healthcare. This led me to complete my masters degree in Family Medicine through the University of Stellenbosch cum laude.
As a family physician, I spent more than two happy decades working at a busy, family-oriented general practice in Rondebosch East, Cape Town. My move to The Women's Health Practice in 2026 came from a desire to create a way of practising that allows me to spend more time with each person to improve their health and wellbeing, while also creating greater balance in my own life.
Driven by curiosity and a desire to keep learning, I have extensive experience managing chronic conditions, including lifestyle-related diseases, chronic pain and mental health conditions. I have a particular interest in the transitional stages of life, including puberty, perimenopause and menopause, and how they affect a person's physical, emotional and social well-being.
My aim is always to help patients feel informed, supported and confident about their health.
After hours: I enjoy spending time with family and friends, including my two wonderful young-adult sons. Walking my dog in Newlands Forest, meditation and reading are some of my happy places.
